Nicola John is Managing Director at FDM and a leading advocate for practical competence in fire door safety. Since 2024 she has scaled assessed practical training across the supply chain, this training helps to strengthen consistency in how fire doors are specified, installed and maintained. Her work is raising standards and improving confidence in real-world compliance across specification, procurement, installation, inspection and maintenance, helping organisations improve compliance and safety outcomes. FDM have been named this year in the Construction products white paper as an example of good practice in relation to competence and skills in the built environment.
